Version 1 Northern Ireland Doubles in Size

This news comes after the winning of substantial new business for Version 1, especially in the areas of energy, utilities and the public services. Commenting on this, Lorna McAdoo, Head of Operations at Version 1 NI, said ‘’today’s announcement comes after a lot of very hard work from the Version 1 team in Belfast. We have become more competitive in Northern Ireland and this, combined with hard work and commitment from our team, has led to several large contracts being awarded to us.’’  Lorna went on to say; ‘’over the next six months, we will be doubling our office space at Cromac Place and also doubling our workforce to 120 over the next two years - increasing opportunities for Northern Ireland IT jobs.  We have very exciting times ahead.’’

Version 1 opened its first office in Belfast in 2012 with in a small serviced office with four staff. They grew rapidly and moved to Cromac Place 25th September 2014. Since then, they have built up a team of 60 staff and are hopeful of exceeding their target of 120 in two years.

Version 1 currently has anticipated turnover of circa €106m/£93m in 2017 and over 900 staff based in operations in Belfast, Dublin, Cork, Manchester, Edinburgh, Kent and Birmingham. They have expanded rapidly in recent years and have acquired the Rocela Group, Patech Solutions and Beoley Mill Software. In April 2017, Version 1 announced the creation of 365 jobs over the next 3 years. This has been funded by a €90m investment by London-based investment firm Volpi Capital.
