Panel Discussion: Catalysing Innovation

Roger Whitehead, Global Head of Solution Leadership at Version 1 is speaking at the Momentum Conference in Northern Ireland.

The Momentum Conference, organised by the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is an economic conference that is “inspiring collaboration in pursuit of business growth”. Conor Murphy MLA, Economy Minister will be present at the event among other delegates.

Roger will be speaking at the “Catalysing Innovation” panel, alongside Sam Turner, CEO, Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC) & HVM Catapult Net Zero Champion; Joann Rhodes, Chief Executive, HIRANI; John Ferrist, Regional Ecosystem Manager, Ulster Bank; and Mary McKenna, Co-Founder & Chair, AwakenAngels. The session will be chaired by John Campbell, BBC NI.

During the discussion, Roger will address the following questions:

  • Does digital innovation apply to every sector?
  • Will AI change everything?
  • How can NI become a world-class tech hub?

Meet the Speaker

Roger Whitehead is the Global Head of Version 1’s Solution Leadership team in the Office of the CTO, working extensively with customers in the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond. He has extensive innovation, strategy, architecture, and delivery knowledge and his experience extends across a wide range of Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Automation, Cloud, Digital and Application Modernisation scenarios.

He has recently helped define and deliver key strategic, digital and cloud transformations, innovation, and application modernisation initiatives for public sector and commercial organisation across the UK, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Europe. He is an active member of several key forums for Artificial Intelligence and wider industry technology directions, speaking regularly at related events.

The NI Economy Minister has set out an ambitious Economic Vision for Northern Ireland.

The Momentum Economic Conference aims to foster deeper collaboration between policymakers and industry stakeholders to make Northern Ireland a more competitive region as part of the UK, on the island of Ireland, and globally.

Key themes of the conference, as referenced in the Minister’s Economic Vision include: innovation-led economic growth, inclusive growth, Northern Ireland as a Competitive Region on the Island of Ireland and UK, and green growth. The conference is designed to critically assess the opportunities presented by the economic vision, assess any gaps or improvements, and assist in developing some of the actions that will be needed to deliver on this vision.
