Version 1 was awarded the 5-year Application Development and Maintenance (ADM) contract through a competitive procurement.

Service Successfully Transitioned

The Department of Justice in Northern Ireland has selected Version 1 as their Support, Development, and Maintenance (ADM) partner for the AccessNI Disclosure System. AccessNI is responsible for providing the criminal record disclosure service for Northern Ireland residents. This service enables employers and voluntary organisations to obtain a criminal record check to take safer and more informed recruitment decisions.

The AccessNI Disclosure System application digitally enables the AccessNI disclosure process, allowing for online applications, case tracking, and production of certificates. The solution incorporates a number of interfaces to external UK-wide databases that are essential in facilitating the AccessNI criminal history checking process.

Version 1 has transitioned support from the incumbent supplier with the new service now live as of August 2021. As part of the transition, Version 1 undertook a review of the in-scope application, ensuring that the key line of business application would continue to run efficiently and maintain maximum levels of operation, which is essential to AccessNI’s overall operations.

Olivia Carroll, Head of Service Reliability Group, Version 1, commented on the positive news:

Version 1 is delighted to be selected by DOJ as their Application Development and Maintenance (ADM) partner to support AccessNI’s mission critical application underpinning the Online Disclosure system. Work began in June 2021 to ensure a smooth transition of the service from the incumbent Supplier, working closely with the AccessNI team to ensure maximum levels of operation from day 1. This partnership is a reflection of the Customer Success and Service Excellence ethos underpinning Version 1’s continued, rapid growth in Government. We look forward to working closely with AccessNI, offering our skills and expertise to support the organisation’s modernisation agenda.

Pauline Somerville, General Manager at ‎the Department of Justice for AccessNI commented on the significance of the AccessNI Disclosure System:
